Meet Mary Rose
Mary Rose will fight for common sense policy reform.
I’m a third generation native Arizonan. I have lived in Gilbert for twelve years. My family commitment to public service began in 1950 when my great aunt became the first woman to run for Governor in Arizona. She lost by only 1500 votes but was the state auditor for 25 years. My aunt was assistant to Carolyn Warner when she was the state superintendent of public instruction, and my uncle was chief of police in Scottsdale.
As a junior in high school, I worked on Raul Castro’s gubernatorial campaign, which he won and I got to attend the Governor’s ball. I was also invited to participate in Girls State the summer between my junior and senior years and spent a week at the U of A learning about politics and running for office. All of this lead to my passion for politics and getting involved in my community. You could say, it is in my blood.

All of this lead to my passion for politics and getting involved in my community. You could say, it is in my blood. I have an Associates of Science degree in construction electrical and graduated from Ottawa University with a bachelor’s degree in human resources. I spent 24 years with Motorola in various capacities, including an electrician, a Business Operations Manager and working in HR as a diversity specialist. I completed my career at General Dynamics as a buyer. While at Motorola I also served as a lieutenant in their fire brigade and was a member of the volunteer committee. We spent time helping out at Sunshine Acres in Mesa, as well as other various events around the valley.
Since retiring in 2024 I have spent time volunteering at both the Higley Center for Performing Arts and the Chandler Center for Performing Arts. I have volunteered for Town of Gilbert events and at Feed My Starving Children and Saving One Life at PetSmart which is a no kill charity for cats. In my spare time I walk at least 6 miles a day and work out in my home gym. I also like to curl up with a good book.
